Google Donate Wikimedia

Google donated two million dollars for the United States or around Rp 20 billion to the Wikimedia Foundation - an organization owned online reference site, Wikipedia.

"The official announcement this Wednesday," said Council Member Wikipedia Jimmy Wales, as quoted by News.com, Wednesday (17/2).

Wikipedia is a vast source of information posted and edited by individuals online. Pages often appear in Google search engine pages. Wikimedia projects other repositories Wikibooks, Wiktionary dictionaries, warehouse Wikimedia Commons images, and other media files.

So far, according to counter Stastistik Organization (internet), more than 958 million edits for the Wikimedia projects have been made.

Coin Collecting Tweets: Looking for petty cash via Twitter


Coin A Chance, a social movement is gathering 'coins' or coins to help the children drop out of school just launched a new program, 'Coin-Collecting Tweets' (CCT).

CCT programs present on the cooperation between the Coin A Chance with a soft drink company Coca Cola. Through CCT, the donors who are outside Jakarta can channel their pennies to put hashtag # open a new spirit in Twitter.

Incidentally, Coca Cola has just launched a new spirit Open campaign which invited young people pass on positive things. Associated with it, Coca Cola will donate Rp 100 to Coin A Chance for every tweet that describes the spirit, hope, optimism or positive thoughts given hashtag # open a new spirit.

"Coin A Chance Mission is to help the children drop out of school. Our program is also aimed at them in order to continue their education.

Later, the donations collected will be divided equally between the Coin A Chance Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Bali, and coordinated to help the children drop out of school in the area.

To assist in gathering this tweet, Twitter users only have to write hashtag # open a new spirit at the end of their posting. Thus, one would be appreciated hashtag Rp100.

Since its launch last Tuesday, December 7, the program has collected approximately 630 tweet or Rp63.000 (Rp100 per hashtag). The number is expected to continue to grow until the program closed on December 31, 2009.

Twitter Fame Began to Fade


Twitter service popularity slowly began to fade. Reports from institutions comScore survey shows during October and the number of Twitter users has decreased.

In the comScore report noted the addition of new accounts mikroblogging service in October and down 7.9 percent from September, which is the second monthly decline during 2009. Thus quoted by the Boston Post, Sunday (15/11/2009).

Twitter is a social networking site the third largest in the United States has 19.2 million users in October. ComScore also reported that Twitter currently has a growth of less than 1 percent in September and declined in August. October numbers were better, although the decline in new account users could not inevitable.

This figure of course varies inversely with Facebook, which has 97.4 million users in the United States alone, growing more than doubled from the previous year. MySpace is ranked second among social networking users in the U.S. also fell 2.5 percent from the previous month.

Besides Twitter growth among users of the site continues to slow, but interesting more Twitter users come from mobile phone users and customers abroad.
